In satul de pe coasta Pacificului, am facut cunostinta cu pasarile din filmul lui Hitchcock
Cand am vazut filmul lui Alfred Hitchcock,“Pasarile” (1963), m-am intrebat cat de greu i-a fost sa realizeze un astfel de horror cand mijloacele cinematografice erau inca precare. “Pasarile” ramane pentru mine, care, marturisesc ca nu sunt o amatoare a genului, cel mai bun film horror. Am mai vazut si alte productii de Hitchcock, toate sunt facute cu maiestrie si cu o fina inteligenta, toate dovedesc subtilitate psihologica, o cunoastere a naturii umane, absolut remarcabile. Insa niciunul dintre acestea nu mi-a ramas impregnat in minte atat de puternic si de real, ca “Pasarile”. Viata linistita dintr-un catun situat pe malui Pacificului devine o oroare cand dintr-o data, orasul este asaltat de pasari. Senzatia de groaza este profunda, autentica, crescinda. Faptul ca este un film alb-negru ii adanceste tensiunea. M-am intrebat cum au adus atatea pasari acolo, cum a fost filmat totul incat sa para o veritabila grozavie. Cand am vizitat zilele trecute Bodega Bay am inceput sa inteleg.
Bodega Bay este un satuc pe malul Pacificului. De la San Francisco, ajungi acolo dupa o ora si jumatate, cu masina. Calatoria e spectaculoasa. Drumuri serpuite, sate de fermieri, dealuri, ocean, iar in aer pluteste un miros de eucalipt, de la copacii de pe marginea soselei. Sa simti in nari mirosul acesta mentolat, puternic, este hipnotizant si misterios. La Bodega Bay, mirosul de eucalipt este inlocuit de un miros sarat, teribil de sarat. Pacificul e decorat cu stanci in forme ciudate, care par picate acolo din cer. Iar pe plaja si pe stinci, multime de pasari. Mi l-am imaginat pe maestrul Hitchcok acum 50 de ani, venind la Bodega Bay, intr-o zi de octombrie ca aceasta. Cu cerul innorat, cu apa care parea cuprinsa de o stare de indecizie – intre liniste si involburare – cu cate-un val patimas care sporea tensiunea. Cu linistea din jur si pustietatea din jur. O singura masina mai era parcata acolo, chiar la cativa metri de plaja, iar pe ea stateau, evident, pasari. Putin mai incolo, proprietarii masinii se incalzeau la foc si priveau oceanul, ca si cum ai putea sa cuprinzi cu privirea imensitatea, indefinitul sau moartea. O doamna cu cainele veni la un moment dat pe plaja, dar pasarile nu s-au sinchisit de prezenta lor. Tot acest peisaj era in nuante de griuri si alb, ca un decupaj din filmul alb-negru al lui Hitchcock. Pasarile, cerul erau cenusii, marea la fel. Briza batea cu putere. Iar peste tot acest decor ciudat pareau ca troneaza pasarile. Erau cateva zeci si croncaneau nonsalant, indiferente fata de oaspeti. Nu stiu ce le atrage aici, pe aceasta plaja, de zeci de ani. Mi l-am imaginat pe maestru venind aici, intr-o zi ca aceasta, simtind aceeasi tensiune in aer, pe fondul unui zgomot surd de valuri sparte si croncanituri de pasari, tresarind la ideea ca va veni in acest loc sa faca un film genial. Si chiar a venit. Si a filmat “Pasarile”. Chiar aici, la Bodega Bay.

Prin Bodega Bay am trecut, nu stiam atunci ca e locul unde e plasata -si filmata-actiunea din <<Pasarile". Am fost insa in alte locuri apropiate de pe malul Pacificului, cu o ceatza deasa , ce parca ascundea fantoma lui Sir Francis Drake-care poposise acolo si-si reparase corabia. Eram cuprinsa de o formidabila neliniste si am facut chiar..greva, refuzand sa merg prin ceatza pana la un far faimos. Exista si o rezervatie cu panouri ce prezinta pasarile. Dar, in compensatie, de pe crestetul insorit al Mount Tamales, se deschide vederea spre zona ,,mediteranee" Sausalito si Tiburon….Revenind la proza, de la geamul meu din Tatarasi, orientat spre Venetzia vad aceleasi cohorte de pasari rotindu-se dimineata si spre ora 5 dupa amiaza -cand se duc si vin de la munca. Nu lipseste nici ceatza, invaluind Ciricul si Green Park , asa ca ne putem imagina usor si un Pacific. Chiar a existat , dar cu milioane de ani inainte…

Stii cine sunt, nu? Liviu Dorobat, Facultatea de Litere, Universitatea”Al. I. Cuza”, Iasi,1990-1994, actualmente sotul fostei Mirelei Ivanescu.
Citind paragraful 2, chiar m-am simtit transportat acolo…”infasurat” in aerul de octombrie si stropit putin de valurile din Bodega Bay. Banuiesc ca atunci cand scrii faci cum spunea Fernanda Pivano ca facea Hemingway cand era corespondent de presa: scria iar apoi taia o jumatate din ce scria, avand mereu obsesia de a surprinde doar esenta…
Sau scrii totul din prima? Ai momente cand toate frazele iti “curg” prin degete si sunt aproape de neoprit?
Ma rog…asta numai ttu o stii…Iti doresc succes in continuare si un an in care sa faci fata tuturor provocarilor. La multi ani!
